Car transmissions should be flushed at least once every two years, that's what most car manufactures say and mechanics
the location of the transmission filter is inside the transmission and in order to replace the filter you need to drop the transmission and open it. the filter is not in the transmission pan like most older cars and can not be changed by some one that dosent know a little about how to rebuilt a transmission.it might be better to get the transmission flushed.
me2 !
It will be a PINK color when it should be a pretty RED color. You will have to have the transmission flushed out at a transmission shop and the fluid and filter changed too. Then you need to find out HOW the water got in it in the first place.
If you wait for a transmission to have problems before you have it professionally flushed, you've waited to long. It really depends on your driving conditions but in most cases I would flush it every 50K, it will pay in the long run.
you need to have it flushed
Your vehicle should take dexron3. If you want to spend alittle extra get a full synthetic transmission fluid ( note: if you use full synthetic your transmission will need to be flushed in order to benefit from the synthetic fluid )
The oil type that is used for a manual transmission will depend on the car. Most cars will take 10W30 oil.
the tranny cooler is at the bottom of the radiator and has apparently ruptured, you will need a new radiator and get the tranny flushed and a new filter in it ASAP.
Semiautomatic means that you don't need to operate the clutch but you do need to select the gear range manually.
you need to have it flushed
sounds like you need to change your tranny filter and fluid ( never ever have your older tranny power flushed)
A transmission that stumble upon acceleration between 2nd and 3rd gear may need to be flushed. Another possible cause is that the torque converter is locking when shifting between gears.
