The average age for kittens to be weaned off their mother is about twelve to fourteen weeks old. The kittens should not be weaned off their mother anytime before eight or nine weeks as they might otherwise miss out on important nutrients and minerals from their mother.
Kittens can be taken away at twelve weeks is probably the most reasonable. A kitten can then function almost to its full potential and would have learned many behavioral and social skills from its family. They will learn all about grooming and litterbox-use and will learn how to groom, share and play with litter-mates during this time. Taking a kitten away earlier could lead to behaviour issues when it is older.
a cat has to be 6 weeks old before you can adopt it because by then it can drink normal milk or water with out getting it from there mam i know this cause i am getting 1
A cat needs to be at lest 12 weeks old before it can go to a new home properly because it needs to learn social skills and everything else it needs to know through time spent with its mother and siblings.
The best time for kittens to leave their mother is usually 10 to 12 weeks old. 6 or 8 weeks old is too young as many kittens will not have learned many valuable socialisation skills yet.
