There is no such thing as a license for babysitting.

It is a question of convincing the client that you are old enough to take care of their children. And I think any 11 year old could convince me that they could take care of other children and handle any emergencies that might come up.

While there are few laws regarding ages, most authorities agree that a 12 to 13 year old can be left at home for a few hours during the day.

This would depend on where you are, and what exactly you mean by "baby sitting license." Many states do not have such a thing; usually certain types of child care workers must be licensed and/or work in a licensed facility, but "babysitting" provided by relatives, or in the child's own home, is usually exempt from licensing requirements.

you can start doing babysitting jobs as young as 14 or 13. but you must be very responsible.
