It is well known that many teenagers, young women and men alike, suffer from distorted body images. Many surgeons prefer to try to allow their younger patients to view themselves differently. Some suggest counseling for teenagers who are particularly obsessed with negative body images. Other professionals remind parents to maintain their own positive body images as well to set good examples for their teens.

Liposuction and other cosmetic surgeries are becoming increasingly popular among teenagers. Many privileged youngsters look forward to cosmetic surgery as graduation presents! Fortunately, patients under 18 still only make up approximately 1% of all patients having liposuction performed.

There isn't an age at which you can't have liposuction as far as I know, it just depends whether the surgeon is willing to take on a minor. You can get liposuction when your under 18 with parental consent

No one "needs" liposuction. You would have to wait until you're an adult to get liposuction. And remember, this surgery is not for people who are overweight. It is for people who are near their ideal weight but who have "trouble spots". For instance, a woman who is 5'5'' and 120lbs and has very large saddlebags.

Most Plastic Surgeons will insist that you are 18 years old before accepting you as a Patient.

This rule is not the same in other countries where in some you can give independant consent to surgery below this age.

At the upper end of the age scale, one has to remember that the potential for good skin retraction is also important after the fat has been removed.

If you have poor skin elasticity then this will only look worse after liposuction

This is only my personal opinion basing on what I read and heard from people who have had lipodissolve. There is no specific age when, but since this procedure may involve some risks, the patient should be at of legal age to sign any waiver or if underage, parents should provide consent through a written document. However, commonly, people at their prime (above twenties) are the ones having this procedure.
