And, in an earlier script version (from August 1993) cub Simba was described as "now full-grown cub" which would mean a cub that eats meet and has a full tail tuft. So...Kid Simba was about 7 months old.

The name is actually Mufasa. He was the king of Pride Rock and Simba's father until he was killed by his brother Scar. After Simba is grown up, he meets Rafiki, a wise old baboon friend of Mufasa's. Rafiki tells Simba that Mufasa is always around, because he lives inside Simba. (Meaning, as long as Simba remembers his father, he will always be with him.) But Rafiki goes the extra mile and allows Simba to physically see and hear Mufasa. Mufasa appears in the sky and tells Simba that he must return home and take his rightful place as the new king of Pride Rock.
