What is the age of sailor moon?

At the start of the anime and manga series, Usagi/Serena introduces herself as being 14 years old and in the second year of junior high, which is equivalent to 8th grade. She is shown as having a birthday during the third season, Sailor Moon S, although based on the events up to that point, she actually should have turned 15 a lot sooner.

At the end of the anime series, Usagi says she is 16 years old and is in the first year of high school (equivalent to grade 10).

In the manga, we do not know her age at the end of the series, but we are shown that she and the other Sailor Senshi are now in Crystal Tokyo, and as Usagi comments after her wedding to Mamoru, their timeline's version of Chibiusa, their future daughter, is already on the way. This would indicate that at least some time has passed, considering Usagi was entering high school during the event of the Stars arc, and Mamoru had been preparing to go to Harvard University in the United States.

However, the anime and the manga have different timelines and events (e.g. Mamoru is younger in the manga than he is in the anime; events that are said to lead up to the formation of Crystal Tokyo in the anime are not mentioned in the manga), so it's also possible that after the events at the Galaxy Cauldron, Usagi used her powers to form Crystal Tokyo and what we see is actually "the future," after she awakens everyone from their thousand-year sleep.

When Hotaru-chan is first introduced, she is twelve years old. When she is reborn, obviously she's an infant. In the aging process, we see her as about four or five, then twelve again. Although in her last twelve-year form she looks more like ten or eleven.

Well all the Outer Senshi (apart from Saturn) are a year older than the Inner Senshi. So Neptune first comes into Sailor Moon (when Usagi is about to turn 15) she would be about 15-16, though she looks abit older to me (and acts it too!) :) :D ^-^

This is one of the many mysteries of Sailor Moon. We don't know how old Sailor Pluto really is other than the fact that she looks to be about 18-20.

We can assume that Pluto has lived since the beginning of time, thousands of years. You'd have to be pretty old if you've been guarding the Time Gate all your life.
