Answer: Kannada is more then 2000 years old.The Great poet Pumpa has written magnum opus Mahabharata in kannada around 1200 years ago.Though he has refered earlier writers in his kavya their writings are not available.Halmadi script is 1500 years old.Of course if you go to Purana reference it may proved to be much older.
