How old should someone be to babysit a 4 month old?

I think that i would leave an infant with someone who is mature and takes a babysitting class. Give the babysitter an interview and ask her questions or a quiz like interview to se if you like her. I am 12 and am doing a redcross babysitting class.

I am 13 and have babysat 7 kids in public at once at a park but parents were at the house around the corner watching. I have also watched 4 kids without help but for no longer than 3 hours at once. You need to decide if you feel you are mature enough personally. No offense but some kids are and others are not. Also i would not watch four kids that you are not around alot all at once. You need to talk to your parents and decide on your limits based on your maturity and responsibility level. If you decide you can handle it, with your parents help in the decision, then i say yes , but if its too many for you then stick to your limits of what you can handle no matter how much you want to or how hard it is to say no. I know its hard to say no I love kids too, but someone asked me to watch their six kids all day while they went to work once and i had to say no. Don't forget to stay in your limits or something bad could happen if you can't see them all at once. it also depends on their ages.
