How overpopulation will affect worlds economy?

This subject is one of the most if not the most researched and discussed topic today.

The world´s economy and the concept of over-population consist of many aspects.

Too many in fact to discuss here satisfactorily.

In its simplest form, economics is about how supply and demand interact and distribution of wealth is allowed for. The most obvious aspects of overpopulation and world economy could be that of too many people and too little food and water.

This leaves us with the question though, what happens in between those periods it is not in balance: something that is so all the time.

Anyway, the idea is that there won´t be overpopulation when there is consistently not enough supply because then, people live shorter and less get born.

In case supply can meet higher demand, thanks to development of technology and pressure groups promoting ways to feed also those without buying-power, population can grow.

This leads towards too many people and too little food however with more people increasing demand shortage develops which in turn stagnates population growth.

Either way and given enough time: the problem gets solved. Again, it is the periods in between that give us worries such as poverty and abuse of land and labor.
