Plants adapt the same as animals and humans. Through evolution the strongest and most adaptable will survive and pass their genes on to the next generation. By that process there will be more stronger individuals in that population every subsequent generation causing the species to change
the curticles on the firstly avoid the lost of excess water hence duringextreme conditions the water is been use up to carry out metabolic activities in the plant.during this extreme conditions the stomata plays a very important role.
Please post more information... the question is EXTREME CONDITIONS this includes not only heat, but cold, altitude, salinity, water logged soil etc. Once there are more answers I'll collate them
All plants have adapted to different environment's, but not all are harsh. Some are like a volcano for instance and the plants have overcome the heat and learned to live their.
During extreme heat the rate of transpiration increases and the plant survives.
some species of plants or animals could die out as they can't adapt to the environment
Yes. plants adapt all the time.
human environment interaction
Plants have three basic requirements to grow: sunlight, air and water. Wherever all these three requirements are fulfilled you will find plants growing there. In case, any of these prerequisites are not fully available, the plants show an amazing ability to adapt. They can adapt to any new environment in a very short period of time. Some plants possess amazing charateristics as a result of this adaptability eg. the pitcher plant (Nepenthes distillatoria). We came across plants in almost all regions of the earth, ie. in water, grasslands, deserts, tropical as well temperate regions. Plants are even seen growing in Taiga and Tundra regions. Only places where plants have not been observed are the extreme cold areas of Arctic and Antarctic regions. This is probably because these areas are permanently frozen and the plants are unable to get water in liquid form. References Plant adaptations http://www.mbgnet.net/bioplants/adapt.html
Either it can be extremely cold or hot, have no or little water, or no air to breathe. That's what makes an environment extreme... for humans.I don't know about animals, but that answer was for humans. Basically, the environment has to be not meeting the basic needs of human life, which are:WaterFoodAirShelter
If plants do not adapt, they do not survive in that particular environment.
Prokaryote microbes can adapt to almost any type of environment from moderate to extreme. These include several types of Bacteria.
With the plants that they eat there.
needs survival
Plants mainly undergo modification to increase their abilities to adapt. By modifying themselves, they can better adapt to and survive in their environment.
declines and may face extinction. Non-adaptive traits reduce their ability to survive and reproduce, weakening the population over time. This lack of adaptability can make the species vulnerable to environmental changes and competition from other species.
dies off
yes they can, thats why you see them surviving even in any season because they can quickly adapt.
Adapt
Plants function independent of temperatures except in extreme conditions when they are able to adapt themselves with the environment by the modification of the roots, shoots, stem, leaves etc/ or secreting resins to protect the outer layers which itself consists of sclerenchyma cells.
Figs and figwasps share a commonality in that they can both adapt to extreme temperature changes and extreme changes in the amount of water present. Being able to survive under such a range of conditions is unusual.
they gradfually move to face the nearest source oof light
