It is a very relaible engine. Having said that I need to add that like all engines it needs the proper care. Changing oil as presrcibed in the owners manual is a must. Checking the coolant and keeping the injectors clean are also important. I recommend putting an injector cleaner in the gasoline at least every oil change. They are inexpensive off the shelf at any Walmart or like store and can save you hundreds in repairs and lost time.
Not 100% sure on an 05 but on the 01 it is in the engine bay right in the centre of the firewall.

Yes, because this was the same body style Escape. The '01 Escapes and the '05 Escapes were the same body style.
Failsafe engine mode
You don't.. The computer controls it.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I know on the Ford Escape 3.0 liter V6 engine the cylinders are numbered : firewall 1-----2-----3 4-----5-----6 front of vehicle > driver So I ASSUME it would be : A-----B-----C D-----E-----F -----front-----
I have an 05 escape that takes 6 quarts, but it should till you in your owners manual. If your putting 6 quarts of oil in your 05 escape hybrid your doing it wrong. the '05 FEH only takes 4.5 quarts of synthetic 5W20, and says so in your manual.
That would be the idea. The light reminds you are in 4x4
I also have an 05 Escape Limited. I do not have an AUX input. If you purchase an after market deck, you'll be able to use the AUX through the new deck.
