Shock is a very serious, emergency situation, which might arise from many different causes. Improving circulation is vital for shock victims; standard body position with legs elevated, prevention the loss of body heat, and (depending on medical opinion), the use of compression/anti-shock garment, (which redirect blood from the lower extremities into the central circulation), might be considered.
Lying supine with feet slightly raised 6-12 inches.
Pt. should be laying supine, covered with a blanket, and legs elevated above heart.
Also, a person with burns covering more than 12% BSA is likely to go into shock; this condition may be prevented by laying the person flat and elevating the feet about 12 in (30 cm).
Place the patient on his or her back, with legs elevated, which will improve blood circulation.
Back
Continue CPR if no signs of circulation.
on their back in a laying position
They should be placed on there back. (The supine position)
A: Is the Airway obstructed?B: Is the victim Breathing?C: Does the victim have Circulation (a pulse)?
Placed on WHAT document as the owner? Title - Registration - Loan papers? Depending on the situation you may be the victim of fraud and should contact law enforcement.
If it is seriously compromised, then chest compression will help.
You should check for a pulse, and check temperature and color, all of which can indicate the status of the circulation. Flexibility of the lower joints is not considered a factor.
Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Conciousness level.
When beginning mouth to mouth respiration, you should start by assessing the victim with the ABC's (Airway-tilting the victim's head back to ensure open airway, Breathing-make sure that the victim's chest is going up and down that means the victim is breathing, Circulation- check the victim's pulse) If the victim is not breathing, skip checking the pulse and start CPR. First, give the victim two breaths. Breath in and out when giving the breaths just as you would when you breath regularly. Then, start giving the victim CPR pumps or whatever you call it when you pump the victim's chest. This is all I can tell you- I am a lifeguard and if you want to know all about CPR you need to be properly taught. :)
