As stated above a pony is any equine 14.2 hands and under while a horse is anything 14.3 hands and above. Some registries require a pony to be shorter than this, but 14.2 is the upper most height for a pony.

A pony can get as tall as 14.2 hands (1.44 m) but a pony can get bigger just a registered pony has to be14.2 hands!
