Per Josephus Wars Book 5 Chapter 4 section 4 (or verse 172 by the newer method), some of the walls were over 52 feet high with towers extending far beyond that. Some of the city had three walls around it, while other parts had only one. The whole of Chapter 4 is given to a very good description of Jerusalem just before the destruction in AD 70.

15 to 20 feet thick would be a good guess according to Erdmans dictionary of The Bible. Megiddo's walls were only about 6.5 feet thick, but then even getting to that wall was difficult.

The thickness of walls was obviously determined by a number of factors including construction methods used at the time, materials available and the enemies ability to knock down or crush through certain kinds of heights of walls.

Any city leaders would want the wall to look ominous and impenetrable from the outside, but the invader would not easily know how thick the wall was at all spots. Still you had to figure they had spies (Moses did as he looked over Canaan) and so the walls of ancient cities were built tall enough and thick enough to at least give good general security from most foes.

To answer the question then, Nehemiah would likely build a pretty hefty wall of 10 to 15 feet thick anyway.

Do you mean the Western Wall, also known as the Waling Wall or Kotel? If so, it's 1,600 feet (488 metres) - however, most of it is hidden behind other structures. The section set aside for praying, where Jews slip pieces of paper with prayers written on them between the stones, is 187 feet (57 metres). At its highest, around 62 feet (19 metres) can be seen with another estimated 43 feet (13 metres) below ground.
