if you need to know a boy or a girl you look at the belly...a male is flat and a girl is kinda sacky...you know to keep the eggs in. BY THE WAY i got this from a library book!!! no liein. well look at the nails,if girl the claws are short,if boy the nails are long, also the male popps his head out more then girls, and girls tails are usasuly more tucked and the boys have more thicker tails too!!!!
It is actually quite simple. Carefully and slowly turn the turtle over and look at the plastron, which is the shell plate that covers the belly. Females have a plastron that is convex (it curves outwards). Male turtles, however, have a concave plastron (it curves inward).
males long claw thick tail
female short claw thin tail
I have heard that if your turtle growls when agitated it is male, where the females will make a hissing sound.Hope this helps.

male turtles usually have a slight indent on the stomach shell to enable tem to mount the female more easlyA female turtle does not have a tail in the back, but a male turtle does have a tail in the back. Below: THIS IS FOR RED SLIDER TURTLES ONLYA FEMALE SLIDER WILL HAVE A SHORTER TAIL AND CLAWS. AMALE WILL HAVE LONG CLAWS AND TAIL.
Female turtles, regardless of "breed", are generally the larger of male or female.
a mobilian turtle (male or female) MALE-has long claws and bottom of shell caves in and there is a hole halfway on the tail FEMALE-has short claws and also the bottom of the shell should come out or be flat and the hole shold be right where the tail starts.
Red-eared slider turtles usually can only breed successfully if they have hibernated before, and turtles kept in tanks rarely hibernate. There is a miniscual chance your turtles will breed if they have not hibernated.
I find that my Baby Turtles have their own personalities, I have 3 red Ear sliders, 3 yrs, 1yr, 8mos old. My babies like to play with each other most of the time. Turtles are community animals, they should be in pairs.
no
All turtles need to have mated in order to lay eggs, unlike birds who will lay infertile eggs, turtles won't.
For Red Eared Turtles a female has short nails and a male as long sharp nails.
Well it depends if they are fighting for dominance or you may be mistaking them for mating. Love, Anonymous
Red eared slider turtles bask though out the day. There is no specific time that they prefer.
A slider turtle is basically like a category of turtles including the Yellow Belly Slider Turtle and the Red Eared Slider turtle.
The red eared slider does, but the yellow bellied slider does not.
