after electrcally disconnecting the switch there should be a small button on the bottom of the switch body that will release the switch shaft. then just pull it out and do the inverse to put the new one in.
Reach under the dash and you will feel a button that you push in on the switch itself. Then you can just pull it out from behind.
there is the headlight switch in the dash witch turns them on and the relay on the floor by the e-brake that controls the high-low beams. that's about it

get a screwdriver and check the bulbs. just unscrew the lenses and pull them out and see if the filament is good, if it is, clean the connectors with something slightly abrasive, and then see if they work then. if not, fuse, and if not and if it's a turn signal or headlight (high and low beam), it's a switch. change accordingly.
