I assume you mean the ignition switch. Pull the steering wheel and you should be able to get to the screw(s) that hold(s) the switch in place. You may need to mess with the turn signal handle while you're working on it. If your pickup has airbags, I'd recommend that you take it to someone that has been trained. If an airbag deploys while you're working on the steering column you can be killed or injured.
Remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1979 Chevrolet C 10 pickup truck ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch out and remove the wiring harness.
You will need to remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1975 Chevrolet pickup truck ignition cylinder. Slide the ignition cylinder out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition cylinder.
