By putting a funnel into the dipstick tube.
There should be an opening which you can unscrew on the side of the gearbox
Should be a plug at the side of transmission - fill to this level
if it is an automatic it should have a dipstick on the drivers side of the engine towards the rear of the engine and if it is a manual you fill it from a plug on the transmission itself
On a 1992 Ford Explorer : The automatic transmission fluid dipstick is on the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine , near the firewall ( the manual transmission fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission , underneath the vehicle )
A manual transaxle requires 2.9 quarts of MERCON automatic transmission fluid. Fill at speedometer cable connection.
On a 1992 Ford F-150 the AUTOMATIC transmission fluid dipstick is near the firewall on the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine in the engine compartment The manual transmission does not have a dipstick , the fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission underneath the vehicle
You would remove the tank and pour it out of the fill hose.
I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. There is no fill plug for transmission fluid. I imagine that the 1994 Ford Explorer would be similar. To fill, use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid directly into the tube that holds the dipstick. Do not fill past the full line on the tank below.

There is no such thing as a 2005 festiva you Prolly have a fiesta...
fill to the plug hole on side of transmission
Next to the firewall on the transmission the speedometer cable enters the transmission. There is a bolt that will let you remove the speedo cable. This is were you fill the transmission. Fill until it is copletly full.
