How to Set timing on nissan sentra 1600cc 1989 model
The thermostat on a 1989 Nissan Sentra is on the front of the motor to the left. It is just below where the valve cover meets top of the manifold. The thermostat is enclosed in the radiator hose at that location.
Inside the fuel tank, on the top.
1989 Nissan Sentra Wagon 5 Speed intermittently wants to die out. Unless I give it gas it will stall. It will start back up again, with the same problem until problem stops. No pattern to diagnose.
maybe check the thermostat.
It is either on the compressor, the smaller ac line, or the accumulator.
Try going to www.kbb.com and enter the data. This will give you a good ballpark in which to work.
It is very easy. There are a couple screws holding the outer frame. take them out and u will see more scews take them out too. you can just pull it out now.
Using a screw driver remove the screws from the door panel, remove the clips, and pull the panel away from the frame slowly. Remove any wiring connectors, and remove the panel the rest of the way.
You don't. 89 sentra does not have a timing belt, instead it has timing chain. I have the 1989 Nissan Sentra 1.6L 4-dr sedan. My timing chain needs to be replaced. It runs inside the motor. It is a big task for an auto mechanic to replace it. It will cost me at a *trustworthy* business $470 for part(s) and labor to replace it. Expect it to take a whole day for the car to be in the shop.
Using a screwdriver, remove all the screws from the panel, remove all the clips from the panel, and gently pull the panel from the frame. Remove and wire connectors between the panel and the frame, then pull the panel off the rest of the way.
