His mother Danaë was locked into a windowless tower, because her father had been told that his grandson would kill him. Therefore he did not want a grandson and wanted to stop any man coming near Danaë. Zeus changed himself into gold dust and seeped in through a crack in the roof and made Danaë pregnant. And Perseus was born.
