The initial colonies were, at first, organized much like the country from which the colonists originated. However, many realized immediately that this type of organization would not be beneficial, the adopted a form of "communalism" - or communism. Everyone was required to work as hard as they could at the thing they did best, but they only received "rewards" based on their individual needs>
