That's almost impossible to say really. We certainly wouldn't understand we are a speck in a endless amount of space (literally & figuratively).

We might not even have a basic understanding of how our own solar system works. We might still think the sun, stars & planets revolve around the Earth.

Perhaps all the science that went into thinking of what's out there would be directed into other aspects of medicine, technology, geology & we'd have no illness, clean burning natural fuel.
