Without the fourth amendment, law enforcement official, and the government in general, can enter our property whenever they please to search, and take, whatever they want.

The fourth amendment prevents the government from searching your property and seizing property, or you, without proper documentation (a warrant) authorized by a judge.

The 4th Amendment states that the government may not search or seize property without probable cause.

Without this amendment, the government could enter your house at any time, search you at any time, and take whatever they wish. In other words, the government could legally steal from you. The 4th Amendment prevents this from happening.
