For example:

First of all the answer depends on the size of the solid. It is
incredibly difficult to measure the volume of an irregular rock
with a mass of several tons!
If the solid is small then you can measure its volume by
displacement. Partly fill a graduated cylinder with a fluid (water,
for example) and read off the volume from the graduation. Insert
the object into the cylinder and measure the new volume. The volume
of the solid is the difference in the two volumes.
Obviously, this method will not work if the solid contains parts
which are soluble in the fluid.

or the gold coin alone.
Write it down so I don't forget it.
