That's a little bit of a challenge. I will say yes you still could be. The tests detect a hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), and are almost never wrong (but there is still a tiny chance it could be but very unlikely)
Ultrasounds are a nice way to verify pregnancy, if you're in fact far enough in the pregnancy, and your Dr shouldn't or usually won't book one unless youre actually pregnant (they cost a lot of money to run). Theyre usually done around 12-13 weeks in the beginning of pregnancy, which by then the baby is of a substancial size. But if you get it done when the baby is no larger than a blueberry (about 7 weeks) it can hide, and it can hide well. Which is alos why Dr's do internal exams and feel your pelvis. they can feel if your uterus is swollen which is usually a sign you're pregnant, especially if you said you had a positive test. Ultrasounds arent the best way to "find out" initially at all. Go with the test and then see a doctor. Or buy more than 1 test.. If theyre both +: You're gonna be a Momma!

Most of blod and urine pregnancy tests measure the level of hormone called hCG, which is created after the egg is fertilized. Different pregnancy test may have different sensitivity, so it will depend on particular test type when it will test positive. However usually a pregnancy test will test positive after first few days of pregnancy.

A positive result on a pregnancy test could be affected by factors such as using an expired or faulty test, testing too early in the pregnancy when hormone levels are low, certain medications that interfere with hormone levels, or an evaporation line that may appear if the test is read after the recommended time window.
