There is a school of thought that says if a bird, any bird, flies into your window and dies there will be a death in the household.

If there were any truth to this superstition the profusion of birds flying into skyscrapers would be quite frightening.

The superstition started at a time when glass and by extension windows, were expensive and small. The likelihood of it happening was small and the correlation between the happening and a death more noticeable.

The main theme is something will come to an end for you or someone close to you. Who ever sees this moment first. A job or a relationship, something that effects your life.

Did Robin Hood die in brighouse woods?

The earliest source of information about how and where Robin Hood died is a ballad called "The Death of Robin Hood." I follow it pretty closely in my novel The Robin Hood Chronicles. In the ballad Robin is ill and is taken by Little John to the convent at Kirklees, where his cousin, who is skilled in medicine, is prioress. It is there that he dies. The ballad does not indicate the nature of the illness he is being treated for; in my novel I assume it was the Black Death, a plague which killed hundreds of people in England in 1348.

Superstition and death of a pigeon?

Why do flies appear after a rat dies?

Flies are good at their job - and their job is to ensure future generations of flies. To do this they are very adept at detecting the odour of decomposition which follows the death of any organism. As soon as a rat, or you for that matter, dies, flies will zero in and lay their egs. Programs like CSI us this fly "skill" to estimate how long a body has been in alocation.
