no if it is paid it is yours unless, there is a lien on it
I would avoid purchasing a reposessed car because in some cases, cars that are reposessed are trashed. I had a friend who looked at a car that was a repossession and there were things missing from the car (radio with CD player). Yes
Yes. Prior liens must be paid off before you take title to the vehicle.
Yes.
You may have paid a total of $17K but not all that money was applied to the principle so you have not paid off the loan yet. Lender will most likely sell car at auction to recover some of their losses and then you will be responsible for balance that is left. If you don't pay they will either write it off and ding your credit rating or sue you for the balance. QED.
Yes and no it depends on the circumstances. For instance is it to a car or home. Anything can be repossessed if not paid for. Also if not repossessed it will have to be paid for if you're in the wrong and the person or company takes the matter to court.
no
Whether or not a car can be repossessed after a judgment depends on the judgment.
If the items are not paid for, they will get reposessed by the bank and then the bank will sell them
If you purchased the car in full with cash then there shouldn't be a lien. Look at your paperwork to make sure it says "Paid In Full" if it does the dealer has no right to repossess a paid in full vehicle. A lien is where you are making payments for a vehicle and the vehicle is being used a collateral until the vehicle is paid off.
The car can not be under another's name legally. Cars with a loan must be in that person's name. If you bought a car that was not paid off and the loan was not cleared you bought the car and the loan. Yes, they can get the car. That is why they put liens in the car. It prevents anyone from buying the car!
