A storm that produces lightning is called a thunderstorm or a lightning storm. Lightning can be stationary or move around.
Yes, if the current is strong enough. This is why you have to get out of the pool or the ocean when a lightning storm comes ;)
I'm not aware of anything that can be done to prevent or reduce the amount of lightning in a storm, and I doubt much success at all could have had with that given the physics of it. All that can be done is make things safer on the ground - keep people safer and keep electronics more out of the way.
thick rubber soles insulate - its not much protection from lightning, but better than being barefoot and standing in water.
When you cross a lightning storm with cashews you get nuts and bolts.
well they both have to do with water but its just the form that is differant ** A hurricane is a large storm that forms over an ocean, wind rain and lightning and thunder come with this storm. A tsunami is a large wave that travels on the ocean.
You should avoid showering during a lightning storm because metal plumbing and water can conduct electricity. If lightning were to strike your home, the electrical current could travel through the plumbing and potentially harm you. It's safer to wait until the storm has passed before taking a shower.
The most recent lightning storm happened in the past minute.
