It would be very difficult to do so. You can certainly copyright any literature or videos associated with a style or form, but preventing someone from doing it would be impossible.

The martial arts you are inquiring about is in fact a more powerfull form inside the iaido martial arts. This is when the proper level has been achieved and now a master teaches only one student. You would have to achieve this level and get a proper master which could turn into something of a quest. You can probably start learning iaido localy before you search for a master in Japan. Then again if you learn iaido localy you can probably get a master for the more powerfull learning.
Does Michael Chiklis practice martial arts?
Michael Chiklis has had very informal training in several arts. This would be no different than any other star that has trained in action movies other than known martial artist legends such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, etc. Chiklis has played in several movies and tv shows.
