Not a good excuse, in the state of Georgia officer must ask if you want him to check to make sure radar is operating correctly. he does not have to let you see it.
Added: In many(all?) states the officer, as part of his prosecution testimony in court must be able to display the calibration records and certification of the equipment he used to time your speed. These records must be maintained scrupulously and be kept up to date in accordance with that state's traffic laws.
A radar gun measures speed of a moving object basically cops use them
No the law even says they do not have to show you the gun what so ever.
No they do not. There is no state where it is a legal requirement.
They have to show that it is has been tested and is functioning properly.
no
All they have to prove is that it was within manufacturer's specifications and calibrated properly, so when stopped by police, they don't need to show you the radar gun, when you ask to see it. An officer does not, and more than likely, will not show you what speed you were going on there radar. That issue would come up in court.
Your question has nothing to do with FIREARMS.
with a radar gun
Cops hide to give out tickets and so the town collects money. How many tickets would they write if they were sitting in plain view? I thought cops were supposed to serve and protect.....LOL yeah, right. Cops think they can do whatever they want and get away with it...and they can IF we citizens let them. Stand up for what is lawful and moral. They are too many rogue arrogant cops doing getting away with evil acts.
There is no law that the officer must show you the laser gun. Radars are no longer in use in Georgia.
No, They do not and they probably won't. Do not use that as your excuse in court... Because you will loose..
i dont think it can because it take a reading like a photograph it doesnt carry on changing the speed. For example: when you take a picture it takes a snapshot of what it can see. The same is done by a radar gun. Hope this helps!! :)
