Rabbits live in cages because they can get into a lot of trouble out in the room. For example:
- They can bite into an electrical wire and get electrocuted
- They could climb up on something unstable, fall down and break a bone
- They could eat a house plant and get poisoned
- They could get attacked by a pet dog
- They could eat some carpeting and get a blockage in their digestion
- and more!
Another reason is that rabbits tend to be nervous animals. Your rabbit's cage should be a secure, comfortable place where the rabbit knows she's safe. Without a secure home, a rabbit can suffer from anxiety, which can lead to behavioural and health problems.
Rabbits don't live in cages 24/7: they need out every day to exercise, play, socialize, etc. If you have a pet rabbit, you need to "rabbit-proof" whatever areas they're allowed into. This means making these spaces safe.
Some people do such a good job of rabbit-proofing that their rabbits don't live in cages at all. This can take a lot of time and effort, though, so most people put their rabbits in a cage when they're not there to supervise.

Not necessarily.I have 2 golden retreivers, which were part of the family before bunny. Bunny lives indoors but when i first got him I kept him in his cage so they could all get used to each other from a safe distance. I then got bunny out and had them all together with me in the room. I did this for a few months But now bunny jumps all over the dogs, he kisses them on the nose and they lie side by side together. I think bunny thinks he is a dog too! It is a very sweet relationship they all have. Sometimes my friends dog comes to stay and she is petrified of bunny...bunny on the otherhand doesnt care. It is a typical case of the elephant and the mouse!!!!! I have never had a cat so not sure what would happen there. I think as long as all the pets know that all are part of the family it should be fine

it is usally around 30- 50 dollars for a bunny but for the cage it is about 25 and (food toys and ect) about $35 all together it might be around 110 for everything

I would highly recommend you give your bun to someone to look after, or take it to a kennel that has rabbit sitting facilities. How are you planning to feed it for all that time, and make sure it has adequate water? Your bun will get very bored and lonely whilst you are away.
