Assuming you mean for a circle then: Area = pi x radius squared where pi = 3.1416 and so radius = square root of area/3.1416 and diameter = 2 x radius

How do you find a area with the diameter of a circle?

Area = Pi(radius)squared.
You only need the radius of a circle to find the area.
To find the radius, when you have the diameter, divide the
diameter by 2, because the diameter forms two radii.
After you have found the radius, plug in the radius into the
area equation:
Area = Pi(radius)squared
In other words, you can say the other equation for the area of a
circle is:
Area = Pi(1/2Diameter)squared

How can you find the diameter of a circle when the area is known?

Use the area formula for a circle. A = pi r squared. r is the
radius, so solve for r and multiply by two to find the diameter.
Need more help? Substitute the area for A, and 3.14 for pi in the
previous equation. So to find the diameter, Divide area by 3.14
then find the square root of that and multiply by two.
So Diameter = 2*Square_root(Area/pi)
