i'ts probably most likely cramp, i would see your local doctor immediatley- the cause could be over excercise or strain of the muscles.

Arm pain that radiates to the fingers causing numbness is typical of a cervical disk problem. Any pain in the back is typically felt in the shoulder, though if severe enough it can radiate below the shoulder to the thoracic region. If you're feeling numbness in the fingers, the pain should be down the entire nerve path - you won't likely feel anything in the neck, but you should have shoulder pain which then follows the nerve down across the outer bicep, then down the inside of the arm as viewed with your palm facing up. The fingers affected are usually the ring and pinky fingers first, though it can affect all fingers at the same time.Keep in mind that the same symptoms can occur just be sleeping with your neck unsupported. As a long term spine patient (see my bio), I've spent a long time laying on my sides (usually my left), since I can't sleep on my back or stomach. Though I've had cervical spine problems before, I know from experience that sleeping without proper support of your neck can irritate the disk and cause similar symptoms.
