Make ur hands move back and foth in a wifting motion so u can get the smell to come to your nose. dont get close to the chemical. Just make ur hand make a motion that makes the air and the odor of chemical to come to ur nose
1. Put your nose on the same height as the source of the smell and about 10-30cm away
2. make some wind with your left arm, so that the fumes go toward your nose
3. inhale
Hold the test tube around 30 cm away from your face then waft the air above the tube towards you and sniff.
You go over the chemical, put your nose directly over the bottle, and inhale as much as you can so you get a good "feel" of it. Trust me, Im a scientist.
Wave your hands over the test tube to direct some of the odor toward your nose.
Never put your face directly over the test tube. Use your hand to fan the air above the test tube toward you and smell that way.
When heating a test tube with any substance in it, you hold it with a test tube holder, pointed away from you and other people.

Like the function of a beaker; to hold chemicalsA test tube is another useful science equipment used in experiments. A test tube is used:-1. to carry solids or liquids in small quantity.2. to do experiments, such as knowing the nature of the substance poured in it( acidic, basic or neutral) .basically, test tube's function is to carry substances in science labs.
test tube is classified in to various types namely hard test tube ,boiler test tube,20 ml test tube
The ability of a substance to stick on inside part of a test tube depends on its surface tension, that's why substances such as water can stick to a window. And the other reason for sticking of a substance to the test tube could be that the test tube itself is dirty, thus the dirt particles hold the substance in place.
use to hold liqud or substance
Never put your face directly over the test tube. Use your hand to fan the air above the test tube toward you and smell that way.
When heating a test tube with any substance in it, you hold it with a test tube holder, pointed away from you and other people.
You should use a test brush and a cleaning substance.
The most important aspect of heating liquids in a test tube is to never look directly into the mouth of the test tube, as liquid may spurt out and come into contact with your eyes or face. However, if you are wearing plastic safety glasses, the substance may not harm you, depending on the type of substance you are heating.
beaker,test tube,
The gas might be an irritant or toxic. Another possibility unrelated to the gas itself is that the contents of the test tube might unexpected be ejected from the test tube and hit you in the face!
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Sometimes you have to smell things in labs. It is very dangerous to stick your nose over a test tube and sniff it so you have to waft it. You do this by holding the test tube or beaker away from you face and wave your hand over it trying to wave the smell towards your nose.
