It depends on the distance between the two points. If it is more than a kilometer apart then you would use kilometer. Unless you wanna do it with centimeter. It's just whatever is easier.
If you wanted to measure the distance from point A to point B, which unit of the metric system would you use?
The most widely used system is the metric system
kilometer, hectometer, dedcameter, meter(base unit) decimeter centimeter millimeter and so on.
METER
The is only one Metric System. That is the one you would use. The units you use to measure mass is the kilogram (Kg).
If you wanted to use English Units you would want to use feet or inches. If you wanted to use the metric system you would want to use centimeters.
There are many different occasions when a person would want to measure the temperature using the metric system. For example, if a friend from the UK wanted to know the temperature at one's house in Wisconsin, it would be polite to convert the temperature to Celsius so that it makes sense to one's friend.
Grams or litres - depending on whether you wanted its mass or volume.
A centimetre, unless I wanted a very precise value (why?) in which case I would use a millimetre.

I would assume that you would use cm or even mm if you wanted to be more accurate

A litre. Unless you wanted to be particularly precise, in which case millilitre.
Metres are a measure of distance, and Kilos are a measure of mass...they are not compatible. Mabe you wanted an answer but here is a little help

The appropriate measure would depend on whether you wanted to measure its circumference, area, volume, temperature or some other attribute. For this reason, it is not possible to name an appropriate unit.
Metres or square metres - depending on whether you wanted to measure its linear dimensions or its floor-space (area).
People wanted an international standard. For example, a unit like the pound was not standardized among different countries; to this day, different countries have "pounds" of different sizes.
