If you have the hood popped and are looking at the motor, its pretty much right below the right valve cover, and is held on a bracket by two bolts. Its a black rectangle box with a connector plugged into it, and there is a coil right below it on the same bracket that has a wire running from the top of the optispark(distributor) to the coil which is right below the ignition module. It doesn't take long to take it off, just remove your air intake elbow and rest of system except for air box, and you should see it . make sure you get the elbow back on top and bottom when you install otherwise your motor will be sucking dust and who knows what else straight into your throttle body.
sounds like your ignition module
The 96 Impala LT1 uses an optispark ignition system in which timing is controlled by the PCM (Computer). In order to change the timing you would need to use a computer, cable, and a tuning program such as PCM4Less or Tunercat. The Optispark mounted on the front of the engine is non adjustable for timing controls. The timing is controlled by the PCM sending signals to the ignition control module located adjacent to the coil on the passenger head.
the Ignition coil has most likely shorted out
On the intake manifold on the drivers side.
Yes a lt1 will fit in a 1991, but i believe the motor mounts are a little different for the lt1. You cannot transplant it though without an PCM from an lt1, which needs a 4l60E transmission to control the transmission and engine codes. There are standalone kits available but they cost more than a PCM.
On the side of the water pump housing
It's the ignition. Can't remember what it is called but the ignition thing got wet. Have to get another (omni spark)
it came with a newly designed 350 lt1 300 hp cam driven water pump with a opti-spark ignition
Search Jegs.com, theres lots. Headers, ignition, throttle bodies, superchargers etc.
There was no LT1 in the 1992 B body, the LT1 was introduced in the F body and Corvette in 1993, and 1994 in the B and D bodies.
The PCV valve on a 1994 LT1 is located on the driverside of the intake manifold, in the middle of the intake manifold. It has a 180 degree hose attaching it to a port in the intake manifold. Eric L
There was no Camaro LT1 "SS" in 1995, but the stock LT1 (assuming you were referring to horsepower) had 275 hp.
