He's serious (no pun intended). He says this because fighting side by side with Harry reminded him of the days were he would do the same with James. Sirius was affected by the loss of his close friends followed up by being wrongly locked up for over a decade in Azkaban. Molly, and others, felt Sirius often had trouble keeping James and Harry separated in his mind. Throughout the books, people often reminded Sirius that James and Harry were not the same person no matter how badly he wanted them to be.
In the beginning of the movie (assuming you're talking of the movie) Molly Weasley holds an argument with Sirius along these lines: Sirius wants to let Harry know EVERYTHING about the Order's secret plans, when Molly must explain to Sirius that Harry is not James, despite his looks.
Later in the movie, in the scene of Sirius's death, Sirius mistakenly calls Harry "James", clarifying Molly's point: Sirius wishes too much that James was still with him, and thinks of Harry as a substitute for his deceased friend.
Because Harry is so similar in many ways to his dad (James) and Sirius missed James so much, he started to unconscously think of Harry as being James in a way.
first he stayed with his aunt and uncle and dudley but then moved to number 12 grimmuald place where his godfather sirius black lived the house used to be sirius's mother's house.
I don't think, here in the United States, that Sirius' death scene was changed when the DVD was released. i was however diappointed that it was changed from the book to the movie; Sirius does not get killed by Bellatrix using the "Avada Kedavra". he falls through the black veil and dies.
Gary Oldman plays Sirius Black, otherwise known as Padfoot
The actor who played Sirius was Gary Oldman. Sirius in the books, was Harry's godfather. Comming from a long line of Slytherins, Sirius was actually put into Gryffindor. He quickly made friends with James Potter, Peter Pettegrew, Remus Lupin and various other people. It was at Hogwarts where Sirius learned how to transform into a black dog to keep Lupin company when he changed into a Werewolf. Sirius was never officially recognised in the wizarding world as an Animagus. When Hogwarts ended for the friends, Sirius Black became Harry Potter's Godfather. After Peter Pettegrew gave the Potters away to Lord Voldemort, Sirius went after him and tried to kill him. His attempts to do so landed Sirius in Azkaban Prison. Sirius escaped in the third book by transforming into the black dog. He went to find Harry, and in that book, the two form a closer bond. It is in later books where we see more to Sirius. We find that he has a home in Grimuald Place and has a pure-blood background. The Black family is very important to the plot of the series. Harry learns many things from his Godfather, and it is perhaps his death in the 5th book that spurrs Harry into action against Voldemort.
Arthur isn't friends with sirius at the time because he does not yet know that Sirius is innocent.
