Benjamin Franklin did most of the editing because he was a editor and a publisher. The Declaration of Independence was all good on July 4. That is now Independence Day. It also kept the U.S.A. independent from Britain. None of the 56 delegates that signed the Declaration of Independence knew that it would be as big as it is today. It is a big part of out history.
