Two minor characters in "Fahrenheit 451" are Clarisse McClellan, a young woman who befriends the protagonist, Montag, and Faber, a retired English professor who aids Montag in his quest for knowledge and understanding.
His wife, Mildred, and his neighbor, Clarisse are some minor characters.
They are the "hobo group" who Montag runs into running away from the city.
Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles
Fire symbolizes two things in the novel Fahrenheit 451. It symbolizes both destruction because the firemen burn books, and knowledge.
Two examples of personification in Fahrenheit 451 are: "The room was indeed empty" (page 8), where the room is given human-like qualities as if it has feelings, and "Montag felt a play of emotions in him" (page 16), where emotions are portrayed as actors in a play.
The other firemen in "Fahrenheit 451" were indifferent to the burning of books and unquestioningly followed orders. They did not question the government's censorship and suppression of knowledge, as they had been conditioned to prioritize conformity and obedience to authority over critical thinking.
In Fahrenheit 451, Winston Noble and Hubert Hoag are described as two vapid individuals who are more interested in superficial entertainment and pleasure-seeking rather than engaging in thoughtful reflection or critical thinking. They exemplify the shallow and passive nature of society in the novel.
In the book "Fahrenheit 451," the two symbols associated with firemen are their helmets and the salamander logo on their uniforms. The helmets represent the firemen's authority and power while the salamander logo represents their association with fire and destruction.
Fahrenheit 451 takes place in the 21st century bt we dont know exactly which stateIt's true that we don't know the actual place in Fahrenheit 451, but my inclination is to set the novel in the year 2053. There are a couple of reasons for this assumption. First, this date is 100 years after the date Bradbury wrote the novel, but there is a more convincing argument.Bradbury gives us a major clue about the date in his text. In Montag's first conversation with Clarisse she mentions that her uncle was arrested for being a pedestrian. In 1951 Bradbury wrote a short story called "The Pedestrian" where this very incident occurs in the year 2053. I would say, with some confidence, that Bradbury had this story in mind when he turned his short story "The Fireman" into Fahrenheit 451 two years later in 1953.
They are minor characters from the play, Hamlet by William Shakespeare. The two characters are Hamlet's friends that are represented as being rather dumb and more or less play the role of comic relief within the play.
At the end of Part 2 in Fahrenheit 451, Montag and Faber have joined forces to challenge the oppressive society. Montag begins to understand the importance of books and seeks out a group of people who have memorized literature to preserve it for future generations. They plan to rebuild society after the impending destruction.
The major characters in the book "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech are Salamanca Tree Hiddle, Phoebe Winterbottom, and her father, John. Minor characters include Sal's grandparents, Mrs. Cadaver, Gram, and Gramps.
Mildred wants the two thousand dollars for a new "parlor wall" TV. She is obsessed with technology and constantly seeks new gadgets to distract herself from reality.
Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles are two of Mildred Montag's friends in "Fahrenheit 451." They represent the shallow and conformist nature of society in the novel, as they are more interested in mindlessly consuming entertainment than engaging in meaningful conversations or critical thinking. They serve as a foil to Montag's transformation and awakening to the oppressive nature of their society.
