Because the gospel is something you have to find, and work, and sacrifice for. It isn't something that is easy or disposable.
The parable of the treasure is found in Matthew 13:44. There are a couple of possible interpretations of this parable but I think this parable is about the nation of Israel. The field is defined (Matthew 13:38) as the world. Jesus is the buyer, the cost His blood (1Peter 1:18); and Israel, is the treasure; (Exodus 19:5); (Psalm 135:4). The divine Merchantman buys the field (world) for the sake of the treasure . The parable is sometimes applied to a sinner, giving up all in order to find Christ, the greatest Treasure. But this interpretation violates the doctrine of grace which insists that salvation is without price (Ephesians 2:8-9). The seeking sinner does not buy, but forsakes, the world to win Christ. Furthermore, the sinner has nothing to sell, nor is Christ for sale, nor is He hidden in a field, and, having found Christ, the sinner does not hide Him again.
Several parables illustrate the value of the Kingdom of God, notably the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price (Matthew 13:45-46), where a merchant sells everything to obtain a valuable pearl, symbolizing the supreme worth of the Kingdom. Similarly, the Parable of the Hidden Treasure (Matthew 13:44) depicts a man who finds treasure in a field and sells all he has to acquire it, highlighting the transformative value of God's kingdom. These parables emphasize that the Kingdom of God is worth sacrificing everything for, as it offers unparalleled spiritual riches.
A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. Some examples can be found in Matthew chapter 13. These parables include: The parable of the sower, The parable of the weeds, The parable of the mustard seed, The parable of the hidden treasure and the pearl, and The parable of the net.
The Hidden Treasure of Glaston was created in 1946.
It is believed that Jesus told around 35 parables during his ministry though they vary in number depending on the source. Of these 35 parables Jesus only gave explanations for 10 of them. These parables with explanations are as follows: Parable of the Sower Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds Parable of the Mustard Seed Parable of the Hidden Treasure Parable of the Pearl of Great Price Parable of the Dragnet Parable of the Unforgiving Servant Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard Parable of the Good Samaritan Parable of the Ten VirginsThese parables and their explanations can be found in the Bible in the books of Matthew Mark and Luke.
