Some one else's answer: A girl rock band, their band played on a movie called "Ten Things I hate About You". Ok, here's My answer: An all-girl rock band of four from Palo-Alto, California. Their sound has ranged from a Runnaways-Ramones sound, to a more garage sound, to a mainstream pop-punk sound, to a calm, more mature, and somewhat earthy sound, to a sound based upon 80's hair metal. The bands members are: Donna A./Brett Anderson-Vocals, Donna C./Torry Castellano-drums, Donna F./Maya Ford-Bass, and Donna R./Allison Robertson-Guitars. But recently, the ladies have dropped the "Donna" pseudonym (by this, I mean "Donna" was a stage first name, like the last name "Ramone" was for the Ramones), in order to have a more grown-up image. So, they now, just go by their real names. They originally started as a harder, metal/riot grrrl band known as Raggady Anne. At their middle school there was a competition. Best friends, Torry and Allison wanted to play in it. Allison got her friend Maya to play bass with them, and they got a girl in their social studies class, Brett, to sing lead vocals. Later on they became slightly trashire with a jailbait image and change their mane to the Electrocutes. They stayed the Electrocutes throughout high school and practiced almost everyday in Torry's garage. Later on they met Darin Raffaelli, who had written Ramones-style songs for a typical girl band. These were different than the work of the Electrocutes, for they were alot more innocent. So, they became The Donnas, their Ramones-Worshipping alter egos. They had originally decided to do just one album as THE DONNAS, and to do their own thing under the Electrocutes. Later, they deided to do the complete opposite. Fun Fact: in interviews as the Electrocutes, they would be heard making fun of a (at the time) mysterious band called "The Donnas". Albums by The Donnas: The Donnas, American Teenage Rock N Roll Machine, Get Skintight, The Donnas Turn 21, Spend The Night, Gold Medal, Bitchin'. Influences: The Runnaways, Joan Jett, L7 Shonen Knife, Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, Nikki and the Corvettes, The Ramones, Ac/Dc, Kiss, Judas Priest, Cinderella, Motley Crue, etc. Their recordlabels were:Super*Teem!, Sympathy 4 the R.I., Lookout! Records, Atlantic Records, and their own label, Purple Feather Records.
In the movie Love, Actually, the song playing during the scene when Karl and Sarah are kissing in her bedroom is called "Songbird." The song was written by Christine McVie and performed by Eva Cassidy. It is available on Eva Cassidy's album "Songbird" which was released in 1998, two years after her death.
Now that her movie is out, obviously it's not singing or acting. thats not true she is good at all those things + things we normal people can do. she is vary talented.
