there are several different ways, they all have to do with the 3 types of winds: trade winds, polar easterlies, and prevailing westerlies, in the u.s they all colide some where in the middle of our country, but that's why we have such weird weather!

What is the meaning of Storms make oaks take deeper roots?

It is an analogy, In saying "storms make oaks grow deeper roots" one is saying that the reaction of oak trees to high winds (that may blow them over) is for them to develop strong deep roots (which they do because the live and resist storm winds for 100s of years). The analogy is that in life the (emotional) happenings that may potentially destroy us also serve to make us stronger.

Does trade winds blow east to west or west to east?

Aircraft (and weather) travels in the direction of the eastward prevailing winds. High altitude aircraft have to deal with the jet stream. In the US that means westward flights coast-to-coast take an hour longer than eastward flights.

With the apporach and passage of a frontal system in the US what pressure and wind direction changes take place?

Generally, the winds will change to the direction that the front is coming from. For example, if it come from the north the wind direction usually turns from a southernly direction to a wind more out of the north. The pressure will usually lower as the frontal boundary approaches then rises after the passage of the front.

Does global winds in the US blow from east to west?

At the latitude of most of the US, the prevailing winds blow from the southwest to the northeast. This obviously varies depending on the weather systems and geography of any site at any given moment, and Alaska, parts of Texas and Florida, and Hawaii are at different enough latitudes that the winds there may be predominantly in the opposite direction.

What direction does wind blow over central America?

I live in Missouri and the wind here causes some interesting weather conditions. There doesn't seem to be any one wind direction here. However every now and then we get really powerful winds that can last up to 24 hours. Depending on the direction of the wind will severely alter the weather here and give us unusual weather. When strong winds blow from the north for a day we could have cold weather even in March it could drop below freezing temperature. When the wind blows from the south it could make temperatures up to 60 degrees in the winter months. But to answer your question it is hard to say which direction the wind blows in central America.
