In William Peterson's last episode titled "On the Go" his character offers Fishburne's character a job at the crime lab, starting a new beginning for him and the lab itself. William Peterson left CSI in order to explore more options with his life, he seemed to be stuck in a great job, but was left with the feeling that he wanted to do more.
