Many people with autism would be quite happy to have a friend who does not judge them, pity them, or look down on them because they have a disability. Being able to interact with somebody who doesn't care that you're weird is a huge relief.
You can help just by including a friend or sibling with autism in your social groups from time to enjoy different activities, just like you do.
You can help a person with Autism by listening to their needs, don't assume that you know what is best for them; they know what is best for them and just want to be treated fairly.
Learn more about Autism, although there's a saying 'once you've met one Autistic person, you've met one Autistic person' which means all Autistic people are different, understanding Autism can help you support Autistic people better. The best way to learn about Autism is to listen to Autistic people, read blogs by Autistic people and join groups online for Autistic people to listen to how they experience being Autistic - don't just rely on academics or reading about symptoms.
I would suggest that if you are really interested in helping someone with autism that you learn all you can about it. Researchers are still learning about the causes and types. There isn't one type, but several and with various degrees of autism. Some people can communicate while others do not. I have seen children with autism who do the same behaviors over and over all day. Many autistic people do not like to be touched. Special education teachers in CA now have to complete a special course of instruction in autism.
Society can help Autistic people firstly by accepting Autistic people - that includes learning to use correct language such as identity-first language instead of person-first language. Society can do a lot to stop looking to eugenics by seeking a 'cure' to autism but instead looking for treatments to make it easier for Autistic people to deal with symptoms. Society can also do much more to tackle unemployment in Autistic people, such as better training for employers and changing interview techniques.
by not being ignorant about it, and not being judgemental.
Give them a lot of support and be patient with them: some take a long time to learn even the most simplest things.

there is no real cure for Autism. the only thing that can help stop the process of autism from getting worse is to have the affected child be in Programs that will help him cope with his disability. but the only way that autism can really be cured is if someone is not born with it, but otherwise there is no Known cure of autism

No one has 'recovered' from Autism because Autism isn't something that happens to someone or something that can be recovered from. Autism is a neurological difference, you can no more recover from being Autistic than you can recover from being an African-American.
