Faith based initiatives--money goes directly from the government to religious organizations; politicians promise religious constituents that they will help promote their political agendas in return for votes--and they do such as taking sides in the abortion debate.
By subtly keeping Religious History out of the public classrooms with their interpretation of "Religious Pluralism," Religious World-views," Religious Neutrality," and "Religious Indoctrination" which needs to be redefined to get this nation back to God.
