The QE2 began her maiden voyage on May 2, 1969. She broke the record for crossing the Atlantic in June 1970 with a record time of 3 days, 20 hours and 42 minutes.
In November 2008, the QE2 will make her final voyage on the seas, and find a new home at the The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, the world's largest man-made island, where she will become a floating hotel and shopping / entertainment center.
