A few days after the Clans settle in their new home around the lake, Tallstar dies of old age. He was already weak from the journey made by the Clans. He dies appointing Onewhisker as the new deputy, making Onewhisker leader, becoming Onestar.

Tallstar dies not to long before the clans separate into their different clans. He makes it a far way and gets to see some of the forest. But never got to see windclan territory. Right before he dies he changes his deputy into onewhisker later to be known as Onestar. Mudclaw soon after that becomes mad over this choice and trys to kill onestar,

Tallstar was actually the oldest Clan Leader in that time. He was a very old cat, so when the Great Journey cam to an end, he appointed Onewhisker to be the new leader. He layed one his deathbed, dying, on his way to Starclan.
it does not really say. But the leader of windclan was in the story long before rusty joined ThunderClan. But each book is at least a season so he was at least 15 years old in kitty years in record. don't forget that he lost his last life. that counts!
Thunderstar dies during a battle with his longtime rival, Shadowstar. In the battle, Thunderstar is fatally wounded and succumbs to his injuries, ultimately leading to his death.
