What are the 3 examples that show ineffectiveness of the League of Nations during the 1930s period of crisis?
The first example is the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. The League of Nations disapproved but had no means to stop the invasion. Mussolini then invaded Ethiopia in 1935, and the League of Nations was unable to take action against him. Finally, in 1936, Hitler began to remilitarize Germany, and there was no reaction from the League of Nations.

There were many reasons for the league to be ineffective, but the main one is that the USA never joined the league even though Wilson (president of the USA at the time) came up with idea. Also, Germany, Austria etc.. (all the defeated countries) were not allowed to join. apex= For nations to cooperate and collectively keep the peace

Why didn't the UN join the league of nations?
Original Answer: Because they are decades away. Improved: The United Nations are not a country. They couldn't have "joined" the League of Nations. The League of Nations was the predecessor of the United Nations - the League of Nations failed, and so, many years later in 1942 (I believe it was that year) they founded the United Nations as an improved "League of Nations."
