More information is necessary. If the rifle has a 4-lug bolt head, it is the same as a Mossberg 810. Research the 810 for info on this rifle. It may be made on FN Mauser 98 actions, in which case it will be like any other Mauser 98 sporter. Otherwise, it will be German made by Heym and is either the same as a Mauser 2000 or Mauser 3000 action. The scope, on the other hand, is almost impossible to describe these days. It will likely have Japanese optics.
What type of gun? Rifle, shotgun, type of action? Need more info to identify model.
I am looking for the same thing. I have a J. Stevens model 54 in .410 that my grandfather left me and cannot find any info on this shotgun. It is bolt action with a cocking knob on the rear of the bolt. Any info would be appreciated.
Blue Book of Gun Values will help.
what type of shotgun is this
With the serial number that you provided, your winchester model 1912 pump action shotgun was made in the year 1959.There were 104,672 made during that year.
The "British"- meaning the British government- did not make an 8mm Mauser rifle. Some private gun makers in England have- but without more information, there is no way to answer. Please repost your question with some identifying information, and we can try to help. Let's start with all markings on your rifle.
Need a detailed description of ALL markings. Sounds like a store brand.
IIRC Mossberg. No sn data available. - I own one of these, they were made by FN using Mauser actions. The markings are on the receiver under the stock. Mine does not have a serial number, from the info I could find on when Mauser made that type of action (Sako trigger, sliding safety) my guess is it was made in the 1950s.
