A peculiar fact about fairy stories (recently read a lot of Irish tales) is the fact that they and other mythical creatures (goblins, trolls, leprechauns) have one thing in common, no matter if good or bad: they require people while in their presence not to make the Holy Cross or speak the name of God. So some people consider them as demons or witches that use demonic powers.

What do they look like? Ok. Think of a person, just about average size. Have te person have pale skin, long hair any color you desire, and a short, but pretty dress on made by one or two, or sometimes even three leaves. Then little shoes made out of leaves. Now think of a dragonfly. have your person shrink to the size of a dragonfly, and have the wings of a butterfly. That's what they look like. What are they like? Fairies love to collect shiny objects. If you found a shiny pearl, or other shiny object, put it away an dcome looking for it the very next day, it'll be gone. That's Because a fairie has taken it away, to a safe place. Not all fairies are good, nor bad. Some hate company, some love company. The mainly have the attitude and behavior we humans do- Sad, happy, angry, mad, fogiveness, love and whiny attitude. There are mini books called flowers fairies. Look them up online and etheir buy them or check them out at your local library. A little secret- I am 21 and I still love fairies! They are so magical!
